Frequently Asked Questions

How do I obtain Slovenian citizenship through investment, and where do I begin?

The route runs through several stages: obtaining a residence permit on the basis of a work visa, investing EUR 500,000 or more in an EU-approved project (the construction of electric-vehicle charging stations), applying for citizenship after one year of residency, the application review, and receipt of the passport. In total it takes two short visits to Slovenia. The place to begin is a free consultation, where we assess your case and sign the contract.

How will the EUR 450,000 investment be returned to me?

Of the EUR 500,000 invested, EUR 450,000 is returned to you within a month of receiving the passport, in line with the investment agreement. The net non-refundable portion of the investment therefore comes to EUR 50,000.

Is dual citizenship permitted in Slovenia?

The main applicant does not need to renounce their current citizenship and keeps their existing passport. Separate conditions apply to the spouse and children: the spouse has 2 years to renounce the previous citizenship after obtaining the Slovenian one, and children renounce any other citizenships on turning 18.

Can my children obtain a Slovenian passport together with me?

Yes. We apply for family reunification after one year of residency, and children receive the passport at the same time as the main applicant. For children under 18 there is no residence requirement and no language exam. On turning 18 they renounce any other citizenships.

Is the Slovenian citizenship-by-investment program available in my country?

The program is designed for a wide range of applicants. Availability in your case depends on your citizenship and individual circumstances, which we assess during the consultation.
